Jennifer Lawrence is an American actress and producer who was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 15, 1990. Her adaptability on-screen and approachable off-screen character helped her gain notoriety. She won the Best Actress Oscar at the age of 22 for her role in Silver Linings Playbook (2012). When Lawrence was found at the age of 14 while on vacation in New York City with her family, her adventure officially began. After landing a role in the television series The Bill Engvall Show, she went on to appear in films such as The Hunger Games trilogy, X-Men: First Class, Winter's Bone, and The Burning Plain.
Lawrence shot to fame after her breakthrough performance as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012). She played the part again in three successive Hunger Games follow-ups: Mockingjay Part 1 (2014), Mockingjay Part 2 (2015), and Catching Fire (2013). Her roles in these movies brought her considerable praise and solidified her place as one of Hollywood's leading ladies.
Apart from her action-packed franchises, Lawrence has demonstrated her versatility in independent dramas such as Silver Linings Playbook (2012) and Winter's Bone (2010), for which she was nominated for multiple awards and won critical praise. Golden Globes were awarded to her for her work with director David O. Russell on American Hustle (2013) and Joy (2015).
