Most introductory programming books teach a single language, leaving students to discover only years later that the ideas they learned were never really about that language at all. It teaches the enduring fundamentals of programming through four of the most widely used languages in the world—C, C++, Python, and Java—so that you learn to see the concept beneath the code.
The book is organised into six parts. Part I builds the conceptual foundation: how computers work and how to think through a problem with algorithms and flowcharts. Parts II through V then teach each language in turn—C first, because it reveals how the machine truly works; C++ next, to introduce object-oriented programming; then Python for its clarity and Java for its disciplined, portable object model. Part VI draws the threads together with a direct comparison of the four languages and a set of capstone projects that put your new skills to work.
Every chapter is written to be read, not merely referenced. You will find worked examples, figures and diagrams, comparison tables, complete runnable programs, notes and tips drawn from real teaching experience, and end-of-chapter review questions and exercises. Wherever a concept appears in more than one language, the book shows the parallel side by side so that the common structure becomes unmistakable.
