Descrição do livro

The sea had always carried whispers. Some said it was the wind, rushing over crests of waves and spilling into gullies of rock, but others believed the ocean held memories—secrets too heavy for the land to keep. On the coast of Lowchapter Beachfold, those whispers were stronger than anywhere else. They rolled in with the tide, mingling with salt and foam, curling around driftwood, and sinking into the silence of a place almost forgotten.
Elias Trenton had heard the stories since childhood. Tales of Beachfold drifted through tavern smoke and winter firelight, woven by sailors with sea-bitten lips and fishermen who refused to cast their nets too far east. His grandmother had been the worst for it, her voice thin and cracking, yet filled with a peculiar reverence whenever she spoke the name: Lowchapter. She said the beach belonged to no map and to no crown. It had been erased, scratched out like a mistake, yet the earth itself had failed to forget. Every so often, a wanderer would stumble across it, and every so often, they would never return.
Most people who valued their peace ignored such legends. But Elias was not like most. For him, the stories were less warning than invitation. He was a restless man in his early thirties, a scholar of forgotten histories and half-buried myths. While others pored over current politics and trade routes, Elias collected scraps of legend: faded journals, fragmented maps, and cryptic ballads sung in roadside inns. They filled his satchel until it bulged, and they filled his mind until he could not sleep. Among them all, the whispers of Beachfold stood out. They haunted him with a particular pull, like a door left slightly ajar in the back of his thoughts.
And so, one pale morning, he found himself walking down a rugged, narrow track that smelled of brine and heather. The path clung to cliffs like a scar, the sea groaning beneath. The mist had been thick when he set out, but as the hours passed, it began to unravel, strands of silver rising to reveal the coastline ahead.
Lowchapter Beachfold.
It looked both smaller and larger than he expected—smaller in breadth, perhaps no more than half a mile from cliff to cliff, but larger in the sense that it seemed to stretch inward, as if it contained more than its length allowed. The sand was neither golden nor white but a dusky, grayish bronze, glimmering faintly under the sun’s weak light.
