Descrição do livro

The first light of dawn was always slow to reach Bronzeravine.
The valley lay deep between sheer cliffs of rust-colored stone, a place where echoes carried longer than memories and the air itself smelled faintly of metal and ash. From above, the ravine appeared like an old scar in the skin of the earth—winding, deep, and ancient. People said the land still breathed down there, that sometimes, if one stood at the edge at night, they could see the ground exhale faint wisps of light, like fire trapped beneath the soil.
Lyra had grown up watching those lights, though she had never dared to climb down until now.
She adjusted the leather strap of her satchel and looked down at the thin rope bridge swaying ahead. The wind hissed through the cracks of the canyon, playing a haunting tune. The wooden planks creaked under her boots as she stepped onto the bridge, gripping the side rope for balance. Below her, the ravine plunged into shadows that never fully lifted, even when the sun was at its zenith.
“You sure this is worth it?” Dax called from behind her. His voice was heavy with skepticism, as always.
Lyra smiled faintly. “You said that about every archive I’ve dragged you to.”
“Yeah, and half of them nearly collapsed on us,” he muttered, stepping onto the bridge. He was broad-shouldered and strong, with the rough hands of a metalsmith. The sun had darkened his skin, and streaks of soot seemed permanently etched into his fingers. “Remind me why we’re chasing old ghost stories again?”
“Because,” Lyra said, her voice soft with reverence, “ghost stories are all that’s left of truth.”
At the far side of the bridge, the ground widened into a rocky terrace overlooking the heart of Bronzeravine. The canyon’s interior was a labyrinth of crumbled towers, stone causeways, and hollowed-out chambers carved into the cliffs themselves. The ruins stretched for miles, their remnants half-buried under red dust. The air shimmered faintly as if heat rose from invisible forges.
Lyra crouched near a broken column, brushing aside a layer of dust to reveal a carving—a circular insignia with a stylized flame in its center. Around it, ancient runes spiraled outward in meticulous script.
“The Lanternwork’s crest,” she murmured.
Dax frowned. “Looks like a candle.
