The book includes 150 positions, stemming from Dragon Sicilian games. The positions are of a pronounced tactical nature, and you have to solve the correct continuation. It's not necessarily a clear straightforward win, although in most cases is, but might simply be just winning a pawn, the exchange, or even only slightly improving for one side. This makes the puzzles more realistic examples, as you will find in real life competition.
The games come from a wide variety of sources, are played throughout the years, so there are very recent examples, but also older ones, and represent different levels of competition, from relatively unadvanced, to higher levels. Still most of the examples will require skills in the range of maybe 1200 to 2200 elos, so club strength mostly. Of course, there might be a few exceptions. That might precisely overlap with the strength of the original players themselves. Some of the examples feature sidelines, that might have appeared on the board, in case the players had proceeded differently. That will detract in no way from their worth, on the contrary.
All the positions show arrangements, typical of the Dragon Sicilian, featuring both opening and middlegame situations. They are considered fitting, as long as the general position outlines resemble situations you will come across in real life Dragon Sicilian games. The opening patterns must be there. Middlegame situations have been included on purpose, because too many books already present only strictly opening situations, that gets boring and repetitive, so the unknown later game patterns will instill some freshness.
The puzzles are split into white and black side to move, and such an approach should be synchronised with the respective side each player and aficionado of the opening takes. In some cases, players take both sides.
